Types of flood Lights
Sodium Vapor lamps: These type of lamps has two types: high pressure and low pressure lamps. Low-pressure sodium lamps are highly efficient electrical light sources, but their yellow light restricts applications to outdoor lighting such as street lamps. High-pressure sodium lamps produce a broader spectrum of light than the low-pressure lamps, but they still have poorer color rendering than other types of lamps.
Metal halide lamps: A metal-halide lamp is an electrical lamp that produces light by an electric arc through a gaseous mixture of vaporised mercury and metal halides. Metal-halide lamps have high luminous efficacy of around 75–100 lumens per watt, which is about twice that of mercury vapour lights and 3 to 5 times that of incandescent lights and produce an intense white light.
High intensity discharge lamps: The new latest high-intensity discharge lamps make more visible light per unit of electric power consumed than fluorescent and incandescent lamps, since a greater proportion of their radiation is visible light in contrast to infrared.
Fluorescent lights: Fluorescent lights are a large family of light sources. This light produces an electric current in the gas excites mercury vapor which produces short-wave ultraviolet light that then causes a phosphor coating on the inside of the lamp to glow.
